My teaching interests relate very much to my research interests (see “Research”). A brief list of topics: New Testament (any and all topics relating to this collection of texts). Jewish Studies and Hebrew Bible: the ancient synagogue, Jewish history from the Persian period to Late Antiquity. Archaeology and inscriptions: synagogue archaeology. Jewish/Christian relations and Christian identity formation (including aspects of Graeco-Roman society and religion) from the first century to Late Antiquity.
